The tongue and groove FAST® Chipboard is available in 18mm for separating floor sub-decks or 22mm thickness for finished floor construction.
The base product, EGGER Peel Clean Xtra, is manufactured to the specification of EN312, is regularly audited independently, is FSC chain-of-custody certified and has been independently certified by the BBA (No.08/4585) as a chipboard flooring board capable of providing temporary weather protection prior to completion of the building envelope.
The chipboard has a reactive Hot Melt Polyurethane coating rolled on which when cured forms a FR barrier and creates FAST® Chipboard providing robustness against fire.
FAST® Chipboard has a weather resistant peel clean top surface layer, which results in a product that offers protection from moisture penetration.

EGGER Eurostrand OSB3 has been specifically designed to provide not only dimensional stability and high load bearing properties but also the ability to perform in humid conditions. All Eurostrand OSB3 is supplied pre conditioned with a minimum moisture content of 5% which helps to reduce possible dimensional movement offering better overall dimensional
stability.
Eurostrand OSB3 is CE-certified according to EN 13986 and has been independently certified by the BBA (No.08/4546) as a load bearing oriented strand board for use in humid conditions. EGGER OSB3 complies with PEFC chain of custody scheme.

The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) has launched new guidance designed to help clients, designers and CDM Coordinators consider the risk of fire to neighbouring buildings should a fire occur in a timber frame building under construction and improve the building fabric’s defence against both accidental fire and arson attack.
The guidance focuses principally on separating distances between a receiver (existing building) and emitter (new timber frame building) and has established how wide these distances need to be to mitigate the fire risk through newly defined Categories A,B and C. The guidelines also consider susceptibility to ignition of fire, a much overlooked subject.
Category A – Standard open panel timber frame
Category B – Reduced fire spread frames
Category C – Fire spread resistant frames

EGGER can achieve sound reduction of 44 dB with 22 mm EGGER Protect, a 15 mm plasterboard ceiling and 220 mm IWS-Joists at 600 mm centres

IWS FAST Board was tested to BS EN 594 2011.

Racking Strengths to BS 5268 – 6.1/6.2

Category 1 board or specific racking strength for the nailing noted as:

• FAST Board standard nailing – 1.97kN/m (which can be modified as appropriate using K104-8 to BS 5268 6.1/6.2)
• FAST Board enhanced nailing – 3.07kN/m (which can be modified as appropriate using K104-8 to BS 5268 6.1/6.2)

The IWS treatment offers the unique combination of:
– Flame Retardant (FR)
– Water Repellent (WR)
– Preservative
The WR included has been successfully used in the Ultrajoist product for over 10 years to minimise the ingress of water, resulting in greater stability during and after the build
process. This is a tremendous advantage when multi-storey timber structures are being constructed. The IWS treatment under test has demonstrated its ability to minimise
dimensional change when measured against its leading competitor products.
